About Fipotex
Fipotex was founded in 1998 by Erik Filsø Pedersen and Jesper Poulsen, who still own the company today and are part of the daily management.
Based in Erik Filsø Pedersen’s bedroom in his home in the small village of Jordrup west of Kolding, the two founders started the work of finding both manufacturers and interested customers in the textile business, which they both had in-depth knowledge of from their former careers.
Erik Filsø Pedersen had a background as a salesman, while Jesper Poulsen had a career as a purchaser behind him. With focus on each of their individual specialities, but with an intense collaboration, they were convinced that they could create a good business.
That is the philosophy that is at the core of Fipotex. All our employees are specialists in their fields, but must also be able to collaborate across the company and have a thorough understanding of other areas than their own. This philosophy is one of the keys to our success.
Because Fipotex was quickly a success. After the first order of 25,000 Disney watches Fipotex experienced rapid growth. The bedroom was replaced by a pavilion with room for several employees next to the house in Jordrup. But already in the spring of 2001 the pavilion became too small and Fipotex moved to a restored farm just outside Kolding.
In this charming three-winged building, where the original style has been carefully preserved and combined with the needs of a modern company, all of Fipo Group’s roughly 100 employees work today. Of these, about 50 are employed at Fipotex. And in the autumn of 2009 a new addition was inaugurated – because Fipotex is still experiencing rapid growth.
Close cooperation and extreme flexibility
We at Fipotex do not have customers, but rather important and close partners. A close and open cooperation is a must when Fipotex’ partners and customers work together to develop unique designs, lines, brands and campaigns that are to be launched in the various chains.
In a world where fashion is changing faster and faster, and where the modern consumer expects new products on the shelves almost every day, it is of vital importance to be abreast of the demand in the market. Flexibility and ability to adapt are characteristics, which Fipotex greatly encourages.
The way to success is through relationships
All our customers have different needs and requests, just as there are significant differences in consumers’ taste and preferences in the different markets in which our customers operate. It is therefore of vital importance for our sales managers, buyers and designers to possess extensive knowledge and insight both in the individual market, and when it comes to individual customers.
We, at Fipotex, believe that a long-term cooperation and relations are the best possible way to success, both for us and for our customers. Therefore, we always do our best to ensure that our customers always communicate with the same contact persons – this makes the process much more efficient and ensures consistency over time.
